Fair Lawn is a suburban borough in central Bergen County, bordered by Paterson, Glen Rock, Paramus, Saddle Brook, and several smaller communities. Routes 4 and 208 provide regional access, while NJ Transit’s Bergen County Line serves Radburn and Broadway stations. The borough is known for the Radburn planned community, an influential residential design built around connected green spaces, pedestrian paths, and limited through traffic. Fair Lawn also includes established single-family neighborhoods, apartment buildings, schools, parks, offices, light industrial areas, and busy commercial corridors along Broadway and River Road. The Saddle River forms part of the eastern boundary and contributes to the local park system. Fair Lawn’s location places it close to major retail centers in Paramus, employment districts in Paterson and Hackensack, and highway connections leading throughout northern New Jersey and into New York City.
