North Arlington is a compact borough in southwestern Bergen County, positioned between Lyndhurst, Kearny, Belleville, and the New Jersey Meadowlands. The Passaic River runs along its western side, while the eastern edge transitions toward the wetlands and transportation corridors of the Meadowlands district. Ridge Road serves as the borough's main commercial spine, connecting residential neighborhoods with local shops, restaurants, schools, and civic facilities. Route 7, Route 3, the New Jersey Turnpike, and nearby rail and bus connections provide access to Newark, Jersey City, the Meadowlands, and New York City. North Arlington combines older homes, multifamily buildings, neighborhood parks, small businesses, and industrial properties near its outer edges. The borough's location gives it a distinct balance of traditional residential blocks and regional infrastructure, with strong everyday ties to both Bergen and Hudson counties.
