Saddle Brook is a township in central Bergen County at the intersection of several major transportation corridors. Interstate 80, the Garden State Parkway, and Route 46 provide access toward Paterson, Hackensack, Newark, and New York City. The Saddle River runs through the municipality and contributes to parks and open areas within an otherwise compact suburban landscape. Saddle Brook contains established residential neighborhoods, apartment buildings, schools, local shops, offices, warehouses, and industrial properties. Market Street and other local roads connect the township with Garfield, Lodi, Rochelle Park, Elmwood Park, and Fair Lawn. Its development accelerated during the twentieth century as highways and employment centers expanded across Bergen County. Despite its small land area, Saddle Brook supports a varied mix of homes and commercial activity. The township's central location and exceptional highway access make it an important link between the Passaic County urban area and the business districts of eastern Bergen County.
