Teaneck is a diverse suburban township in eastern Bergen County, west of the Hudson River communities and directly north of Hackensack. Route 4 crosses the township and provides access to the George Washington Bridge, Route 17, and the region’s major highways. Teaneck includes established residential neighborhoods, apartment buildings, local shopping districts, schools, houses of worship, parks, and healthcare facilities. Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus extends across the Teaneck-Hackensack border along the Hackensack River. Overpeck County Park lies along the eastern side and provides trails, fields, waterways, and recreation facilities. Cedar Lane and Queen Anne Road serve as important local business corridors. Teaneck’s development is largely residential, but its central location places it close to major Bergen County medical, educational, retail, and employment centers as well as frequent bus connections to New York City.
