South Brunswick Township occupies a large area in southwestern Middlesex County between New Brunswick and the Princeton region. Route 1 forms its main commercial and employment corridor, with office parks, warehouses, research facilities, hotels, shopping areas, and major residential developments nearby. The New Jersey Turnpike and Route 130 provide additional regional connections. South Brunswick includes several distinct communities, including Monmouth Junction, Kendall Park, Dayton, Kingston, and Deans. The township’s landscape ranges from dense suburban neighborhoods and industrial areas to farmland, wetlands, and preserved open space. Portions of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park follow the western edge near Kingston. Its central location provides access to Rutgers University, Princeton, New Brunswick, and logistics routes serving the broader Northeast. Development is spread across multiple centers rather than organized around a single traditional downtown.
