Hawthorne is a Passaic County borough located along the Passaic River between Paterson, Prospect Park, North Haledon, Glen Rock, and Ridgewood. The community is primarily residential, with a traditional downtown, neighborhood businesses, schools, parks, and light industrial areas. NJ Transit’s Hawthorne station serves the Main Line, providing rail connections toward Hoboken and communities to the north. Route 208 runs along the borough’s western side, while nearby Route 4, Interstate 80, and local roads connect Hawthorne with Bergen County and the wider region.
